Excellent article. I watched David Cronenberg's 2012 film Cosmopolis the other day. Its vision of the near future still sparkled, except for the fact that the billionaire protagonist was using his genius with data to do nothing more innovative than trade money. In 2015, that jarred. Why was he wasting time on the money markets when, properly monetised, his digital innovations could make him infinitely richer and more powerful?
